2462033 - Job Requisition Template XML - Can the permissions for the J Role be removed

Symptom

When trying to remove any reference to J Role in a Job Requisition Template XML, the changes made do not take effect.

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Recruiting Management

Reproducing the Issue

 • Edit the Job Req Template XML
 • Remove the lines related to J ROLE : <role-name><![CDATA[J]]></role-name>
 • Upload the template, the message appears: "The template was saved successfully."
 • However if you download the template to double check, the lines removed are still there

Resolution

The Permissions for the J role cannot be removed.

This behaviour is normal.

The J Role is a technical user generated automatically by the system during the upload.

If these permissions are missing in the template, the system will create them during the upload.

Additional Info about J Role:

The J role controls which fields appear in the legacy Recruiting Reports link. If the J role is missing, Provisioning automatically adds all fields into the J role. J role permissions containing only a partial field list can cause errors. Removing the J permissions, reuploading the XML, and allowing Provisioning to restore the J permissions can fix the issues.
