2462631 - Fiori SSL handshake error on OData call "SSSLERR_PEER_CERT_UNTRUSTED" "SSSLERR_CLIENT_CERT_UNTRUSTED"

Symptom

You are using a Fiori application that tries to make an OData call OR you use the Gateway Client tool (/IWFND/GW_CLIENT), and the following error occurs:

failed: SSSLERR_PEER_CERT_UNTRUSTED (-102) the peer's X.509 Certificate (Chain) is untrustedSapSSLEssionStartNB()... => "Failed to verify peer certificate. Peer not trusted."

or:

failed: SSSLERR_CLIENT_CERT_UNTRUSTED (-109) Client certificate verification failed, certificate (chain) untrusted
