2463080 - What are the DB tables PA_CBT_SCO_PREFERENCE and PA_CBT_STUD_PREFERENCE used for?

Symptom

  • Administrators may need to clarify the use of these DB tables in the LMS for various reasons.
  • Administrators may notice that these tables are not populated sometimes and need an explanation for this

Resolution

  1. PA_CBT_STUD_PREFERENCE: this table was created to store User's online preference like Audio level, language etc... However this table is currently no longer in use and the fact that there is no data populated in it would be expected for that reason.
  2. PA_CBT_SCO_PREFERENCE: this table is only populated in the scenario when a user starts a course, closes it and then start it again from where he left thanks to the suspend data that is sent to the LMS DB in that scenario. It is the suspend data that allows the user to start again from where stopped previously in the language that he selected when launching the course first and this is what the table was designed originally for. If the table is not populated for a user and a course, this could mean that the suspend data was not sent from the content to the LMS or that the user went through the course without interruption.
