Symptom

SAP Adaptive Server Enterprise (ASE) Rep Agent fails with the following error messages:

  • Msg 32058. The value given for 'rs_objects_objname.column name' cannot be translated from datatype 'char' to the required datatype 'char'. Value length is '10'; Maximum target length is '10'; The value is 'ASPOE57[c2a8]6'
  • Error: 9261, Severity: 20, State: 0
    RepAgent(x): This Rep Agent Thread is aborting due to an unrecoverable communications or Replication Server error.
    Rep Agent Thread for database 'database_name' (dbid = x) terminated abnormally with error. (major 92, minor 61)
