2464693 - "Unable to connect to <host>:<port>. Ensure that the connection details are correct" error message in SAP Analytics Cloud when connecting to relational databases

• The following error message appears when connecting to relational databases in SAP Analytics Cloud:
• Unable to connect to <host>:<port>. Ensure that the connection details are correct
• The following errors are visible in the latest catalina.log (Tomcat) logs:
• <timestamp>SEVERE [http-nio-8080-exec-7] com.sap.fpa.logging.CoreLogger.log [1493274010354]ERROR_INVALID_CONNECTION_INFO
• <timestamp>SEVERE [http-nio-8080-exec-10] com.sap.fpa.logging.CoreLogger.log [1493274015302]The TCP/IP connection to the host <ip>, port <port> has failed. Error: "Connection timed out: no further information. Verify the connection properties. Make sure that an instance of SQL Server is running on the host and accepting TCP/IP connections at the port. Make sure that TCP connections to the port are not blocked by a firewall."

• SAP Cloud 2017.08

1. Configure Data Connection to an SQL Database.
2. Create a new import data connection to SQL Database.
3. Notice the error.

• Connection details are incorrect.
• Database is not running.
• IP and port are blocked by a firewall.

• Enter correct connection details.
• Make sure that the database is up and running.
• Make sure that the host and port are not blocked by a firewall.
