2465579 - "undefined/bin/java" or "undefined\bin\java.exe" error running SWPM

You are running SWPM. The error "undefined/bin/java" occurred. The errors are slightly different in Unix and Windows environments.

• Unix/Linux environment:
  
  In the GUI dialog screen, there is the following error.
  

    "Unable to access application undefined/bin/java. No such file or directory"

        In the log file "sapinst_dev.log", there is the following error.

  ERROR <timestamp> (<user account>) ... errno=FCO-00011
  The step <step> ... was executed with status ERROR
  ( Last error reported by the step: Unable to access application undefined/bin/java. No such file or directory).

• Windows environment:
  
  In the GUI dialog screen:
  

  "System call failed. Error 2 (...) (The system cannot find the file specified.) ... (NULL, <command line for executable undefined\bin\java.exe ...".
  
  

  In the log file "sapinst_dev.log", there is the following error.

ERROR <timestamp> (<user account>) ...  errno=FCO-00011
The step<step> ... was executed with status ERROR
( Last error reported by the step: System call failed. Error 2 (0x00000002) (The system cannot find the file specified.)
in execution of system call 'CreateProcess' with parameter (NULL, <command line for executable undefined\bin\java.exe, NULL, ...)
