2471520 - Overall ratings show numeric value even when disabled in template

Symptom

You have checked "Hide numeric rating values (only show text labels)" within your PM template, however the overall rating still displays a numeric value in your Summary Section and Overall Score Pod.

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors HCM Core all supported versions

Reproducing the Issue

Hide the numeric ratings in a Performance Template, and then observe the Overall Rating in your Summary section and Overall Score pod shows the numeric value still.

Cause

The Overall Rating is a calculated rating, therefore it is expected that it will show the numeric value as that is how it is calculated.

Resolution

In order to show only the rating labels in this field, you would need to map the ratings to the correct labels.  This can be done by completing the following steps:

  1. Navigate to the template you wish to customize through Admin Center>>Manage Templates>>*Choose your template*
  2. Navigate to the "General Settings" section of the template, and click "Show advanced options" then choose the "Enable Scale Adjusted Calculation" link.

        3. Check the "Enable Scale Adjusted Calculation" option, and then set as many ranges as you need to properly map your labels.  Note that if you select the "Enable Display Calculated Rating" box as well, the numerical value will still show.

Now your labels will show within the Overall Rating, corresponding the calculated score to the ranges that you have defined.  Please note that this is not a dynamic change, so you will need to launch new forms to observe the change.

Regarding the Overall Score Pod, if Allow Manual Rating is enabled, this will cause numerical ratings to appear even with Scale Adjusted Calculation enabled.

This is because when Manual Rating is used, scale adjusted calculations are not considered. The system will only display a rating label instead of numerical value when the calculated rating exactly matches a value on the forms rating scale.

Otherwise, if the rating contains a value outside of the scale values, this value would be shown.
