2471554 - Migrated Business Residence are Displaying as Deviating Business Residence

You have migrated an Organizational Structure through migration and defined the Business Residence for an Org Unit. In the migration template, you have filled this Business Residence for the child Org Units. But, in Organizational Management work center whichever Org Unit has this as Business Residence shows this as Deviating Business Residence.

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to Organizational Management work center
2. Open Org Structures 
3. You see some of the Org Units Referred as "Deviating Business Residence Assignment" as shown below:
   

When you migrate an Org Unit using migration Template, the Business Residence is inherited from the Parent Org Unit. So, when you define the Org Unit as a Parent Org Unit then the child org units inherit the Business residence property.

Hence, it is not required to enter the values in the column Parent Business Residence Org Unit ID. You can fill this column only when you need to define the deviating Business Residence.

To overcome the issue please follow the below steps:

1. Go to Organizational Management work center
2. Open Org Structures 
3. Go to Planning Area
4. Highlight the affected Org Unit
5. Remove the Business Residence(Currently belongs to field) & hit enter key, Business Residence is inherited from the Parent Org Unit 

Now the system will determine the Business Residence automatically. Then you can activate the Org Units.
