2472103 - Error writing backup to 'BACKINT' – "There are no IBM Spectrum Protect-Servers available"

Symptom

You are not able to perform data or log backups in SAP HANA using a 3rd-party BACKINT tool (IBM Spectrum Protect for ERP / Data Protection for SAP HANA).

In the SAP HANA backup.log you see entries similar to:
2017-04-18T13:44:47+02:00 P033814 15b80e09ad8 ERROR LOGBCKUP state of service: nameserver, ap-sape2hbl5:30201, volume: 1, BackupLogError
2017-04-18T13:44:47+02:00 P033814 15b80e09ad8 ERROR LOGBCKUP state of service: nameserver, ap-sape2hbl5:30201, volume: 1, Error writing backup to 'BACKINT' '/usr/sap/E22/SYS/global/hdb/backint/log_backup_1_0_12137984_12139904'

In the BACKINT output (IBM Spectrum Protect for ERP, Data Protection for SAP HANA) you see messages like:
BKI1214E: Error for session to server SAPHE22:
ANS1017E (RC-50) Session rejected: TCP/IP connection failure.

BKI1201E: There are no IBM Spectrum Protect-Servers available.BKI1203E: Not enough sessions available (1 required and 0 available).

The program then terminates with:
BKI0024I: Return code is: 0.
