2472144 - HANA Backup Using Backint fails with the error: [447] backup could not be completed, [110203] Not all data could be written

Symptom

BACKINT Backup via IBM Spectrum Protect, formerly known as Tivoli Storage Manager (TSM), fails with error in backup.log:

ERROR   BACKUP   SAVE DATA finished with error: [447] backup could not be completed, [110203] Not all data could be written: Expected <number of bytes> but transferred <number of bytes>
visible in backup.log

When you look at indexserver trace, you can find the following message:

BackupHandlerImpl.cpp(00452) : Error during log segment backup: exception 1: no.110089 (Backup/Destination/impl/BackupDest_DestCallback.cpp:130)
Error writing backup to 'BACKINT' '/usr/sap/<SID>/SYS/global/hdb/backint/log_backup_1_0_12137984_12139904'

And nameserver trace contains the following entry:

BackupDestBackint_Executor.cpp(00278) : Backint did not respond for 600 seconds, killing pid <pid>

This leads to "backint terminated" messages in backint.log, like the following:

exception  1: no.110508  (Backup/Destination/Backint/impl/BackupDestBackint_Executor.cpp:234)
Backint exited with signal 9

Or, a RED Alert in Early Watch Alert report is observed as follows:

" Severe issues for operating or administration in terms of backup/recovery have been detected." 
"The log backup operating appears to be critical. Frequent log backups could not be detected."
