Symptom

When editing an existing Layout an error is displayed: Invalid Name. Use only a-z A-Z 0-9_ .

Environment

SAP Cloud for Customer

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Click in the button Adapt.
  2. Select Edit Page layout.
  3. Select the Page layout and press Enter.

The follow error will be displayed "Invalid Name. Use only a-z A-Z 0-9_".

Cause

While creating page layout only alphanumeric characters i.e A-Z , a-z , 0-9 and only one special character i.e '_' is allowed , other characters are not supported.

Resolution

To solve the issue, you need to remove the invalid characters. To do so:

  1. Click in the button Adapt.
  2. Select Edit Page layout.
  3. Select the Page layout and.
  4. Remove any invalid characters and save.

The error should be solved.
