• Instructor gets confused while adding users with the same first and last name in My Classes > Any class > Add users popup.

Instructor search for users and the result set has multiple records with the same first and last name:

Multiple employees have the same first name and last name, and there is no way to differentiate the employees in the user search result.

An additional user identifier can be displayed in braces in the User Search Type Ahead results to enable users to identify and select the intended user when there are multiple users with the same name. You can configure to choose between email address, Organization Description, and Person External ID. The Additional identifier will be shown in braces for selected users. The Student ID will not be shown for the Selected Users.

This will be applicable only for the Peer Recommendation popup launched from Collections, Catalog 3.0 / Browse Catalog, and User Search on the Instructor's My Classes page.

Below are steps to enable this feature:

1. At Learning Administration > System Administration > Configuration > System Configuration > SEARCH > open in the Edit mode >
2. Choose between Blank, Person External ID, Organization Description and email address for additionalIdentifierDisplayedInUserSearch to enable an additional identifier in user type-ahead search results > Apply Changes

# personExternalID - Show personExternalID as additional Identifier
