2474149 - PA-PA-GB: 'Changes to field "XXX", which is not designed for use, are deleted' warning on infotypes

Symptom

After entering a value into a field on an infotype and pressing Enter to run the validations, the below warning message is displayed (where XXX is the label of the field) and the value is deleted from the field:

'Changes to field "XXX", which is not designed for use, are deleted'

The same message can be observed in SLG1 replication log when replicating the infotype from SF EC to ERP system.
