2474413 - Learning: How does the notification gets populated when using ad hoc notifications

There are few users that are facing the issue where the tags are not coming up. In case if the item title is not present for an item then item_title should appear in the notification as a tag, but if the value is not there for a particular tag then the complete tag disappears

This is expected behaviour.

When SAP SuccessFactors Learning creates a notification message at run time, it does so in the following order, for each message sent:

1. Check the user's active locale ID (the language that the user speaks). Active locale can be set:

   • By the user in their preferences

   • By an administrator in the user record's Active Locale ID

2. Substitute the correct value, per language, for any labels in the notification. For example, the label text.greeting can be Hello if the user's locale is English orHola if the user's locale is Spanish.

3. Replace any syntax tag placeholders with the value for that user. For example, the placeholder <&STUD-LAST> is replaced with Miller if the recipient's last name is Miller and Xue if the recipient's last name is Xue.

4. Process the HTML tags. This step is last so that when the HTML processing happens it happens with the text itself, not either the label or syntax tag placeholder. Therefore if there is no value available then the tag is ignored
