2475431 - "Start Course" or "Assign to Me" buttons are not available when browsing items on library

Symptom

  • When browsing items on the library (or accessing them via the learning history), the user cannot see the "Start Course" nor the "Assign to Me" buttons.
  • The user can self-assign the item several times.

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Learning

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Log in as user > navigate to the Learning module >
  2. Perform a library search >
  3. No item shown has the "Start Course" nor the "Assign to Me" buttons available.

Cause

The user's role is missing a permission.

Resolution

First, navigate to the affected user's record (Learning Administration > People > Users) to see the role assigned to the user, by checking the field "Role".

Then double-check the user's role:

  1. At Learning Administration > System Administration > Security > Role Management >
  2. Search for the required role > Open it in the edit more >
  3. Navigate to the Permissions tab >
  4. Click "add one or more from list" > Search for the "Add to Learning Assignments" permission > Click the Add checkbox > Then on the Add button >
  5. After that, the user should be able to see the missing buttons again.

If you want to disable the option that allows the user to add a learning item to their learning plan, you can remove the permission "Add to Learning Assignments" to the user role, following the process above.
