Symptom
- When browsing items on the library (or accessing them via the learning history), the user cannot see the "Start Course" nor the "Assign to Me" buttons.
- The user can self-assign the item several times.
Environment
SAP SuccessFactors Learning
Reproducing the Issue
- Log in as user > navigate to the Learning module >
- Perform a library search >
- No item shown has the "Start Course" nor the "Assign to Me" buttons available.
Cause
The user's role is missing a permission.
Resolution
First, navigate to the affected user's record (Learning Administration > People > Users) to see the role assigned to the user, by checking the field "Role".
Then double-check the user's role:
- At Learning Administration > System Administration > Security > Role Management >
- Search for the required role > Open it in the edit more >
- Navigate to the Permissions tab >
- Click "add one or more from list" > Search for the "Add to Learning Assignments" permission > Click the Add checkbox > Then on the Add button >
- After that, the user should be able to see the missing buttons again.
If you want to disable the option that allows the user to add a learning item to their learning plan, you can remove the permission "Add to Learning Assignments" to the user role, following the process above.
