2475537 - Error Creating Extension Field for a Manual Journal Entry Voucher: 'Field creation in business context Coding Block no longer supported'

While adding an Extension Field to the Item Details of a Manual Journal Entry Voucher, error is raised:

'Field creation in business context Coding Block no longer supported'.

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to the General Ledger work center.
2. Go to the Journal Entry Voucher view.
3. Click Key user settings -> Start Adaptation Mode.
4. Click On New -> Journal Entry Voucher.
5. Click On Adapt -> Edit Screen.
6. On the bottom right-hand corner of the Adapt Pane, click on Extension Field.
7. In Sections Enabled for Extension Fields, select Item Details - Manual Posting - Journal Entry Voucher.
8. In List of Fields, click on the Add button.
9. In Field label (mandatory) enter the relevant information or just "Test".
10. Click on Save.

Error is raised:

'Field creation in business context Coding Block no longer supported'.

This is the expected behavior. When creating extension field at Item level, it must be ensured that the Business Context of the field is set up properly to match this Section.

Follow the same steps as before to create the Extension Field. Before saving, make sure the Business Context is set up to Journal Entry Voucher - Item in the Add New Field prompt screen:

1. In the Adapt Pane, click on Extension Field.
2. In Sections Enabled for Extension Fields, select Item Details - Manual Posting - Journal Entry Voucher.
3. In List of Fields, click on the Add button.
4. At the top of the new pop-up window, click on the scroll down menu for Business Context.
5. Select Journal Entry Voucher - Item.
6. In Field label enter the relevant information.
7. Click on Save.

 The error message is not raised anymore, and the Extension Field will now be published in the Item Details section as expected.
