2475933 - OData request is terminated with "Invalid format" error

While testing a custom developed OData service (e.g. in Gateway Client), the HTTP response code is HTTP 500 (Internal Server Error) and in the Gateway Error Log (/IWFND/ERROR_LOG) the following error text appears:
Invalid format (return table): Row Number 1, Property Name 'XXX', Property Value '00000000'

The referred property has Edm.DateTime type.
