2477290 - Certain library permissions are missing from custom user roles

Symptom

Administrators using custom user roles may notice that these two permissions can no longer be selected to added to custom roles. The permissions that are missing in the custom role are:

  • Access Browse Library.
  • Access Simple Library Search.

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Learning

Cause

The "Access Browse Library" and "Access Simple Library Search" permissions retired in past versions of the system. This is why they are no longer supported and therefore cannot be added to custom roles.

Resolution

To allow users to browse the library, the pre-requisites user permissions are "Access Advanced Library Search" and "Access Calendar of Classes". This is expected since the "Access Browse Library" and "Access Simple Library Search" permissions were retired.

Certain roles, depending on when they were created, might have the retired permissions, but they won't have an impact on the user.

Note: The "Access Advanced Catalog/Library Search" permission is also a requirement to view the Recommendations tile.
