2477631 - Federation error or Error Code 222 in System Log or SAML Diagnostic Trace

Symptom

In the system log or SAML diagnostic trace ( see KBA 2501320 ) from the ABAP server the error:

Code 222, Class SAML, Number 011, Text: Error when logging on for external ID "": Error during SAML 2.0 logon is seen - this typically relates to a failed end user logon with SAML.
