2478813 - How to create a SAP Jam Group for only certain users

You would like to create a SAP Jam Group, with users that have a certain attribute, e.g. Department = Sales

The solution for this type of request involves 2 steps.

Step 1: Create a Dynamic Member List in SAP Jam

1. This can be done by going into SAP Jam > Admin > Users & Member Lists > Select Dynamic Member List tab > Click "New Dynamic Member List"
2. bName the Dynamic Member List e.g. Sales Department
3. Click in the text box that says "Click here to add dynamic memership rules"
4. Select an attribute from the picklist and give it a value. This will result in any user matching that selection being part of the Dynamic Member List.

Note:

• The options available in the picklist are synced across from the User Data File in your SuccessFactors instance.
• You will only be able to select values that are already maintained in your SuccessFactors instance.
• To be part of a Dynamic Member List, the user must have accessed the SAP Jam at least once.
• In this example, I am creating a Dynamic Member List for our Sales Department. I would select "Department" from the picklist, and click "Sales".

Step 2: Create a SAP Jam Group and invite the Dynamic Memberlist that you just create to it.

1. Create a SAP Jam Group
2. Click on the Invite button in the Group
3. You will now be presented with 2 options:
   
   Option 1: Enter the name of the Dynamic Member List into the box on the Send Invites tab.
   Result: The users from the Dynamic member List will receive an email notification informing them that they have been invited to the Group. They can choose to accept or decline the invitation.
   
   Option 2: Enter the name of the Dynamic Member List into the box on the Required Member Lists tab.
   Result: All members of the Dynamic Member List will be automatically brought into the SAP Jam Group. They will not be given the choice of declining the invitation.
