The behaviour only affects queries, when connecting to a cube the document can be refreshed.

Furthermore, issue can only be reproduced with the WebDispatcher URL, when using the direct Tomcat URL the behaviour is fine.

Environment

  • SAP BusinessObjects Lumira Server for BI Platform 1.31.X
  • SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence Platform 4.1 / 4.2
  • SAP NetWeaver Internet Communication Manager (ICM)
  • SAP WebDispatcher

Reproducing the Issue

  1. In Lumira Desktop, click File > New > BW
  2. Select a query and create a document
  3. Save the document to the BI Platform
  4. Open the document in BI Launchpad and try refreshing it

Cause

In the SAP Web Dispatcher ICM Security log, the following entries can be found:

***********************************************************************************
****** SECURITY WARNING ******
***********************************************************************************
Tue May 23 12:25:05 2017
Error: Permission denied (-13), Content filter matched: Permission denied [http_auth.c 814]

Those entries indicate, that the HTTP request has been matched with the access control list filter, and access has been denied.

Resolution

The access control list in the Internet Communication Manager (ICM) needs to be modified to allow this type of communication via Web Dispatcher.

Instructions on how to modify those ACLs can be found in the SAP NetWeaver user guide, Internet Communication Manager (ICM) section - it can also be found here: https://help.sap.com/viewer/bd78479f4da741a59f5e2a418bd37908/7.4.16/en-US/483edf38c10272d2e10000000a42189c.html

In the nutshell, if the product is out of the box, add csi/enable = FALSE to the ACL's parameters.
