2479488 - General SSLEngine problem on Cloud Connector - unable to find valid certification path to requested target

Symptom

It is not possible to connect the Cloud Connector to an SAP Business Technology Platform subaccount.

  • The Cloud Connector shows the error "General SSLEngine problem" or "An error occurred when trying to connect.";

  • The logs contains the following exception: "sun.security.validator.ValidatorException: PKIX path building failed: sun.security.provider.certpath.SunCertPathBuilderException: unable to find valid certification path to requested target".
