2480314 - Cannot Remove the Product Assignment Indicator From a Product Category

You are trying to remove the Product Assignment indicator from a product category, but system raises error message: "Cannot undo Product Assignment for XYZ; there are products assigned to it" (where XYZ is stands for an actual product category ID).

In SAP Business ByDesign:

1. Go to the Product and Service Portfolio work center.
2. Access the Product Categories work center view.
3. Click Maintain Product Categories.
4. Select the appropriate product category.
5. Uncheck the Product Assignment box.

In SAP Cloud for Customer:

1. Go to the Products work center.
2. Access the Product Categories work center view.
3. Click Maintain Product Categories.
4. Select the appropriate product category.
5. Uncheck the Product Assignment box.

If the product category is already assigned to some products, then you cannot remove the Product Assignment indicator.

In some cases, even though the product category doesn't have any materials or services assigned to it currently, it might have been previously assigned to some material and services and if there are still active transactional documents involving these materials, the indicator cannot be removed as well.

If you still require to remove the Product Assignment indicator from this specific product category, please ensure that all products have been unassigned from it and all transactional documents involving products assigned to it are either completed or canceled.
