Symptom
ABAP short dump CONVT_NO_NUMBER (Unable to interpret "*000-" as a number.) occurs, system will throw dump due to value of counter field MSTA-ZHLER exceeds -9999.
The short dump can occur in following scenarios:
- When updating materials or extending materials to new organization levels.
- When posting goods movements in t-code MIGO.
- When creating a vehicle from t-code VELO action.
- In other scenarios when updating material master data or any other processes that updates table MSTA.
When checking MSTA table values in transaction code SE16/SE16N, negative values and value "*000-" shown in field ZHLER.
