2481903 - Additional identifier in user type-ahead search results

What is it? 
Learning Administrators can configure an additional user identifier to be displayed in braces for the user type-ahead search results in the following cases.

• Peer recommendation popup launched from collection
• Library search
• User search on instructor's "My Classes" page
• User search on manager's "Team View" page
• User search on admin's "Assign Alternate Managers" popup launched from user entity "Actions" button in LMS administration.

Why is it important? 
It enables users to identify and select the intended user when there are multiple with the same name.

General information:

• E-mail address and organization description should be defined at the user level.
• System Administration > Configuration > System Configuration > SEARCH > "additionalIdentifierDisplayedInUserSearch" setting configuration.
• The "additionalIdentifierDisplayedInUserSearch" choices are: blank, e-mail address, organization or personExternalID.
• While email or personExternalID can be added as additional identifier, the user search only looks for the user's first, middle or last name. 
• For users to recommend, they should have the following permissions in their role: Access Recommendations Tile, Access Personalized Recommendations and Recommend to Peer.

Scenarios where this feature can be used:

Recommending Collections

1. Learning User side > Go to the Collections >
2. Access the desired one > Three dots (Actions for Collection) > Recommend >
   
   
   
   
3. Once the user is added, it should suggest values and display the entity configured in the "SEARCH" configuration between parenthesis.
   
   
   
   

Recommending items from the library search or from item details page

Searching for users from the instructor's "My Classes" page

• When an instructor searches for users to add be added in a class, the entity configured in the "SEARCH" configuration should be displayed between parenthesis.

Team View (1H2026)

• Starting with the 1H2026 system version, the “Search People” field on the Team View landing page and in the “Assign Alternate Managers” areas support the “additionalIdentifierDisplayedInUserSearch” setting when it’s configured as “organization”.

• When “additionalIdentifierDisplayedInUserSearch=organization” is set, the user's organization will appear in the search results provided that this field is populated in the user record. Please note that if the organization lacks a description, the ID will still be displayed.
