Symptom
- The password for the utility database has been stored in the util_db.db file pre-SAP IQ 16.0.
- But, the util_db.db file has been removed by the change of the specification from SAP IQ 16.1.
- Therefore, you must set the password by using new database server option to start the utility database on SAP IQ 16.1.
- If the utility database was started without the set of the password, connection to the utility database will return an error as shown below:
- Start the utility database:
start_iq -n utility
- Connection failed with an interactive SQL (dbisql):
dbisql -c "uid=DBA;pwd=sql;eng=utility;dbn=utility_db" -nogui
Could not connect to the database.
Unable to start specified database: unable to start database "utility_db"
SQLCODE=-82, ODBC 3 State="08001"
