2483946 - No individual notifications are sent when a user requests a class for an ILT item

You have an Instructor-Led Training item and you would like to be notified when there are users who request for classes.

2. Search for an Instructor-Led Training item >
3. Request a Class >
4. No real-time notification will be received by the contact email address on that ILT item.

This is an expected behavior of the system.

No individual and real-time notifications are sent to the contact each time a user requests a class.

However, there are other ways to receive information about the class requests.

Following are the available options to see/be notified about the users' class requests for items in the Learning system.

1. Set up the Class Request Demand Met Email Notification

When you navigate to:

1. Learning Administration >
2. System Administration > 
3. Automatic Processes > 
4. Class Request Demand Met Email Notification >
5. The Class Request Demand Met Email Notification sends notifications when it finds that the number of requests for an item matches or exceeds the minimum number of registrations set of the class. This automatic process uses the ApmComponentRequest and the ApmUserRequestedSONotification templates.

The recipient of this notification will be the contact email address maintained on the item and the email address maintained in the class (see following screenshot).

The ‘Reminder Period’ indicate the number of days between each reminder sent to a user, independent of the process scheduling. (Ex.: if value = 1, notification will be sent once a day no matter how many times you run the job within the day.)

Make sure that the ‘Schedule This Process’ checkbox is checked if you want to activate this process.

2. Check the Class Requests at item level

To see the list of schedule requests per item:

1. Open the item >
2. Click Class Requests tab: 

3. Use the "Item Requests" report.

This report will display the list of class requests for all items, depending on your selection.
