2484007 - ORA-01653: unable to extend table <SCHEMA>.QCMBSEG in upgrade phase MAIN_NEWBAS/PARCONV_UPG

Symptom

An error with the following pattern happens in the upgrade phase MAIN_NEWBAS/PARCONV_UPG:

Database error text........: ORA-01653: unable to extend table <SCHEMA>.QCMBSEG by <SIZE> in tablespace P<SCHEMA>.
Internal call code.........: [RSQL/INSR/QCMBSEG ]
Please check the entries in the system log (Transaction SM21).

If the error occurs in a non-modified SAP program, you may be able to
find an interim solution in an SAP Note.
If you have access to SAP Notes, carry out a search with the following
keywords:
