2484406 - Open Client: Setting up Cognos with ASE using password encryption - SDK for SAP ASE

Symptom

  • Setting up SAP SDK for ASE with Cognos if using client and need password encryption

  • If you do not set the SYBASE_OCS  location right the application will connect without password encryption.

  • If you don't set the Application Name in the connection of COGNOS you can get the following error:
    A general exception has occured during the operation "attach". The Sybase returned the following message: "ct_connect(): user api layer: external error: The Connection failed because of invalid or missing external configuration data.
