2484747 - "External Code is required" Error when updating MDF configuration in Configure Object Definition

Symptom

When trying to save a change on an object in Configure Object Definition, error "External Code is required" pops up.

Environment

  • SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite
  • Metadata Framework (MDF)

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to Configure Object Definitions
  2. Select Object Definitions
  3. Choose any MDF Object
  4. Click on Take Action > Make Correction
  5. Make any change
  6. Click save

Cause

This is caused by erasing a rule in the field level, without clicking on the trash icon, leaving the field empty.

Resolution

Find the affected field and delete the empty row by clicking on the trash icon.
