2486899 - Web service activation failed due to long derived names

When trying to activate a wedservice in your Custom Solution, customer is facing the error message "Web service YXXXXXXXX_WS_XXXX activation failed due to long derived names" at activation step.
Hence, it is not possible to activate the webservice .

1. Click on Activate
2. Wait for some time and the following error logs will show up
Error- Web service YXXXXXXXX_WS_XXXX activation failed due to long derived names"

This error message shows up at activation step only when you have not maintained the abbreviated name for a Wer Service.
The maximum lenght of the Original Derived Name allowed in a custom Web Service is 120.
In cases where its lenght is bigger than 120 it is compulsory to add an Abbreviated Name for the same.

You should maintain Abbreviated Names for each Service Operation where the Original Derived Name is bigger than 120 as per the screenshot bellow:

After setting the Abbreviated Names acordingly and saving/activating the Web Service in question you will be able to Assemble and Download the solution without issues.
