1. Business Rule uses context.CurrentUser.Employment Details...

2. Assigned the rule to a custom date field in the object definition ‘Benefit Employee claim Detail’.

3. On changing this date field with value 1^st Jan 2017 (i.e before the employee’s hire date), then we are getting the error as "NullPointerException occurred in custom property handlers while evaluating the property"

This is currently a limitation. You cannot access the employee's details from the benefit claim/enroll screen using business rules.

The Product Management has confirmed that this is an enhancement.

Currently the Enhancement has no fix date, and is currently in discussion.You can track the release of this Enhancement by checking the release notes in each release for XAF-15017.
