Symptom
When adding a link to a shared drive or the URL of an iContent object into a program's section (using it Link or HTML functionalities), users are unable to open it and/or error happen.
Environment
SAP SuccessFactors Learning
Cause
Files or URLs that are part of shared drives can be only accessed if the user's machine is connected to it, and the user is logged in using the same network in which the shared drive is located.
Resolution
The links when trying to access through programs will not work if they are from the shared drives as there will be permission settings that will not allow external users to access them through LMS. However, they can be accessed directly through the machine that are connected to the customer's network.
In summary, this behavior is as per the design and is the intended functionality.
A possibility is to add the content in any cloud location and/or make sure that they are accessible publicly via URL.
