2490281 - SAP installation on HANA fails due to insufficient memory

Symptom

During the installation of a SAP system based on SAP NetWeaver using SAP HANA as a database, the import of some packages fails. Upon checking the packages on detail, you can see the following error messages in the <PACKAGE>.log files (more details can also be found in sapinst_dev.log and import_monitor.log log files):

ERROR MESSAGES
(IMP) ERROR: Task failed with error: (HDB) DbSlExecute failed for DDL statement '<DDL statement> '
(IMP) ERROR: (HDB) DbSlErrorMsg rc = 0 'everything went well'
(IMP) ERROR: (HDB) column store error: set index flag error: [1000002] Allocation failed $REASON$
(IMP) ERROR: (HDB) DBCreate failed

(IMP) ERROR: Task failed with error: (HDB) DbSlExecute failed for DDL statement 'UPDATE "<TABLE>" MERGE DELTA INDEX '
(IMP) ERROR: (HDB) DbSlErrorMsg rc = 0 'everything went well'
(IMP) ERROR: (HDB) column store error: merge delta index error:  [2450] error during merge of delta index occurred
(IMP) ERROR: (HDB) DBCreate failed

(IMP) ERROR: Task failed with error: (IMP) ExeFastload: rc = 2
(IMP) ERROR: (FLD) transaction rolled back by an internal error: Memory allocation failed
(IMP) ERROR: Task failed with error: (HDB) DbSlExecute failed for DDL statement 'UPDATE "<TABLE>" WITH PARAMETERS('LOAD_TYPE' = 'UNLOAD') '
(IMP) ERROR: (HDB) DbSlErrorMsg rc = 0 'everything went well'
(IMP) ERROR: (HDB) transaction rolled back by an internal error: Allocation failed ; $size$=1048576; $name$=QueryCompilation; $type$=pool; $inuse_count$=16781; $allocated_size$=1661904; $alignment$=16

Remark: Other different error messages might be observed as well.
