Symptom
Multiple job requisitions created from the same position in position org chart that are showing the same position number.
Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental
Environment
SAP SuccessFactors Recruiting Management
Reproducing the Issue
- Log in the instance as a user on one device and other to log in the same instance as a different user on another computer. It is also possible to do this yourself logging into the instance in different browsers.
- Find a position in position org chart that is visible to both users.
- Create the requisition using the first user and 2 seconds later create the requisition using the second user. This will lead to two requisitions being created with the same position.
Cause
- The issue is happening due to caching.
- If users keep the page open in two browsers for several minutes without navigating away, the browser cache will not be automatically refreshed — a manual page reload is required to update the cache.
Resolution
This is a system limitation.
Since both users accessed the same position simultaneously and created the requisitions around the same time, both will have the same position number. However, if you go back to the position, you will notice that it is associated with only one job req, the requisition that was created first.
This is a fallback approach to ensure that if job req 643 gets deleted, the next job req associated to the position (644) is automatically assigned to the position. If you were to delete job req 643 then job req 644 would be linked to the position.
If you restore job req 643 via admin centre, then the position will be automatically linked to job req 643 again.
