2493460 - Manually added/imported models cannot be used in stories any more in SAP Analytics Cloud

• Manually added/imported models appear correctly in the Modeler, but they cannot be used in stories any more.
• Previously created stories are not fetching data and stay in "loading" mode.
• All the models based on Live HANA views or Live BW are working correctly.
• When adding a chart into the story, the builder shows: "This chart can no longer retrieve data from datasource".
• After adding a table, you'll observe error like: "EPM model 272500 of query source "TENANT_9"."/t.1M/<MODELNAME>_qs" is not available".
• An input control cannot be added with Filter by Range based on a time hierarchy because error "Failed to initialize" appears.

• SAP Analytics Cloud 2017.11.2

1. Log into your SAP Analytics Cloud tenant.
2. Create a new story, use canvas page.
3. Add an import data model.
4. Add chart into the page and observe in the builder that: "This chart can no longer retrieve data from datasource"
5. Add table and try adding dimensions, you'll observe error like: "EPM model 272500 of query source "TENANT_9"."/t.1M/<MODELNAME>_qs" is not available"
6. Add input control Filter by RANGE based on a time hierarchy and you'll get a popup with an error message "Failed to initialize"

Expired EPM license caused the inconsistencies of the EPM models in the HANA backend.

If you ecounter the above issue please open a support case using LOD-ANA-BI component to request our Operations team to update the EPM license.

Workaround:

The issue with the models/stories could be solved by doing an export/import of the affected models.

This action will perform an model regeneration.
