2496391 - Simulated accrual balances cannot be used for future absence requests

Error message that user has insufficient account balance is shown when trying to use simulated accrual balances of time account.

SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central

1. Login/proxy as the employee then go to Time Off page to request for absence. Note that the account balance of the employee as of today is 63:99 hours (64 hours);
   
   
   
   
2. Change As of Date to 12/31/2017 and balance should add up the simulated accruals and the accumulated accruals as of today;
   
   
   
   
3. Request for absence from July 10-July 31. Error message shows that the requested absence hours exceeds the account balance as of Today, hence, the simulated balances are not considered;
   
   

This is an expected behavior. Simulated accrual balance can only be used after the simulated posting date of the accruals.

For example, you have a monthly accruals and it is November today. Simulated accrual for December which is to be posted on the 1st of December cannot be used in November, but only after the 1st of December.

In the specific example provided, account balance before the start date of the absence being requested is 64 hours and the simulated accruals for the month of July is reflected only on the 15 of the month based on the accrual posting date set in the accrual rule.

 

Hence, if as of date is changed at the end of the month of July, only the accumulated balance from June and the simulated accrual for the month of July after the posting date can be used for absence requests.
