Symptom
When changing the "Allow Import" attribute to "Yes" in the Manage Business Configuration, the system throws the following Warning Message:
"Please confirm the following automatic change(s) Field x: Value of Attribute Allow Import will be reset."

Environment
- SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central - Manage Business Configuration
- SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central - Import Employee Data
Reproducing the Issue
- Go to Admin Center
- Search for Manage Business Configuration
- Select the section where the field is localted, for instance compInfo
- Go to the details of the field
- Select the option "Allow Import" to YES
-
Hit Done and Save, you will receive the message: Value of Attribute Allow Import will be reset.
Resolution
- This is an expected behavior. The "Allow Import" is only relevant for fields with the Visibility = "View". In case the Visibilty = "Edit", you can always import for that fields regardless of the "Allow Import" setting
- If the field is set to Visibility = "Edit", ignore this Warning Message. If the field is set to Visibility = "View", the Warning Message will not appear and "Allow Import" can be changed to "Yes".
For HRIS fields that are configured with Visibility as View in combination with Allow Imports status in the Manage Business Configuration page, you can choose to allow or disallow data uploads.
For:
- Visibility = View
- Allow Imports = Yes
Note:
With imports, you can upload field values for this configuration. If you have these fields as part of the template, values from the template are imported.
If you do not have these fields as part of the template, values from the previous record are copied over to the record being imported.
For:
- Visibility = View
- Allow Imports = Yes
