Symptom
When trying to delete a field from the candidate profile using Manage Templates, there is an error message appearing saying 'a field with the identifier "xxxx" must appear in the document". This error appears twice.
"Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental"
Environment
SAP SuccessFactors Recruiting Management
Reproducing the Issue
Go to Manage Templates and delete a field.
Either publish the changes or save them as draft. You will receive the error message mentioned in the symptom section.
Resolution
The reason the error message is appearing is because there are still permissions defined for the deleted field. Those permissions will have to be removed BEFORE you delete/remove the field. The reason the error message repeated twice is because the field has been permissioned twice. If the error message appeared five times then it would mean that the field has been permissioned five times.
To remove the permissions you will have to go to the 'General Settings' drop down menu on the left and choose 'Field permission and succession mapping'.
Remove both permissions for the field and save your changes.
Go back to delete the field and you will see that there are errors. This is because you have removed the permissions for the field. Once you delete the field the error message will disappear and the candidate profile will save successfully.
