2497466 - Adding Permissions to a Role

Symptom

How to add permissions to a user role?

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Learning

Resolution

To double-check the user's permissions, first is necessary to identify its role:

  1. At Learning Administration > People > Users > search for the user and open its record >
  2. Search for the field 'Role' >
  3. The Role ID is located between the () signs.

In case the user's record is missing the field 'Role', please make sure the field is enabled at the Entity Configuration menu.

Once the user's role is confirmed, please proceed as the following to view the permissions the role has or make changes to it:

  1. At System Administration > Security > Role Management, search for the role in question > open its record in the Edit mode >
  2. Access the Permissions tab > click on 'Expand All' to see all the permissions the role already has >
  3. To add permissions to the role, click on 'add one or more from list' > then on 'Expand All' >
  4. Search for the required permission >
  5. Select the respective 'Add' checkbox > click on 'Add' > then on 'OK'.
