2497585 - Unable to save configuration changes on Fiori Launchpad designer

Symptom

On Launchpad designer, errors are thrown below when trying to save configuration changes:

  • An error pop-up, "Error (500, Internal Server Error) in OData response for PUT 
  • Gateway error log (IWFND\error_log) and on Launchpad designer shows "An exception was raised". 
  • The problem is not always experienced by the same user and possibly never experienced by other users.
