2498482 - Matrix Position with 2 incumbents will not synch both incumbent to Job Relationship element

Symptom

We have assigned 2 incumbents to the Matrix Position of a user, but only one incumbent of the matrix position is synchronized to the Job Relationship of the matrix report.

Environment

  • SAP Employee Central SAP Cloud Support
  • Position Management

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Create a Position with multiple incumbents set to "Yes".
  2. Assign two users to this position.
  3. Add this position as the Matrix position of Employee A's position in Manage Position or via import.
  4. Only one incumbent of the Matrix Position is synchronized from the Job Relationship of a user.

Cause

The system is currently designed to only sync one incumbent of the Matrix position to the Job Relationship of the Matrix Report Employee.

System logic dictates that there can only be one user per relationship type for each employee.

The system will synchronize the incumbent that is added earlier to the Matrix Position.

Resolution

Ensure when adding a users to the Matrix Position that the user who you wish to appear in the Job Relationship of the employee is added first to the Matrix Position.

This current system behavior and engineering team has analyzed with no plan to fix. If this behavior is needed then an enhancement request is needed to improve the functionality, please follow steps provided in following documentation:
