2498492 - How to run NWDS with a specific JDK

Symptom

  • You want to run NWDS with a specific JDK
  • When using the wrong JDK:

  • Symptom 1: NWDS will not start and may throw errors, such as:
    • JVM terminated. Exit code=1
    • Problems during startup
    • A Java Runtime Environment (JRE) or Java Development Kit (JDK) must be available
    • You are running Developer Studio with an unsupported JVM

  • Symptom 2: unable to load Java WebDynpro Applications
    Following errors can be seen :

    "Versions of 'com.sap.dictionary.runtime' are different".
