Mandatory long/short description type fields behavior in job profile builder

Environment

  • SuccessFactors Job Profile Builder

Reproducing the Issue

The long description and short description type fields can be left blank and the job profile can be saved.

Resolution

  • This is the expected system behavior, based on the current implementation of the "required section" feature in job profile.

  • It is fine for job profile drafts to be saved to the system with blank "required section" fields.

  • If job profiles are either activated or job profile drafts are submitted for approval (to become active), then the "required section" validation check is done.

  • The only instance in which the check is not being done is the corner case of an admin user editing an existing job profile and leaving blank required sections. The job profile is not routed through workflows, so this "required section" check is not being done.
