2499027 - System Updates Confirmation Method as Backflush instead of Explicit Method

You have maintained Confirmation Method as Explicit in relevant production model however while confirming the production task, you find confirmation method as Backflush instead of Explicit for input products.

1. Go to Production Control Workcenter.
2. Go to Task Control View.
3. Show All Production Tasks by selection and find required TasK ID.
4. Select and choose Confirm.
5. Go to Confirmation tab and navigate to Input Products sub-tab.
6. Here you see that Confirmation Method is Backflush.

1. Now go to Planning and Production Master Data Workcenter.
2. Go to Production Models View.
3. Using advanced search, find relevant Model ID using output product ID.
4. Select and Edit it.
5. Go to Bill of Operations tab and choose BoO Structure subtab.
6. Now select required Activity under relevant Operation.
7. Here you see that required activities under Operations are assigned to Confirmation Method as Explicit.

You have maintained Confirmation Method as Explicit for activity duration and not for input materials under Product Assignment tab.

If you check under Product Assignment tab, no confirmation method is maintained. However, if no confirmation method is maintained, system updates confirmation method as backflush by default for Input Materials.

1. Go to Planning and Production Master Data Workcenter.
2. Go to Production Models View.
3. Using advanced search, find relevant Model ID using output product ID.
4. Select and Edit it.
5. Go to Bill of Operations tab and choose Product Assignment subtab.
6. Now select required Activity under relevant Operation.
7. Under Bill of Material subtab, choose option Assign Line item group to activity.
8. New Window opens up, select required Confirmation Method for relevant Input Materials.
9. Perform Save.

Note: You have to assign Confirmation Method for all Input Materials manually as per your requirement. This is purely a manual action to update confirmation method on the product, there is no way to update it automatically.

Currently, there is no way to update Confirmation Method via migration template.
