Symptom

Error when click "Open Activity using Netweaver Connection" in menu 'File / BPC' in Excel:
"Please contact your administrator:
SAPUILandscape configuration unavailable"

Environment

  • SAP BusinessObjects Analysis, edition for Microsoft Office 2.4
  • SAP BusinessObjects Analysis for Microsoft Office 2.5

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Start Analysis for Excel.
  2. In 2.4 version:
    Click "File" -> "BPC" -> "Open my Activities" -> "Open Activity using Netweaver Connection".
  3. In 2.5 version:
    Click "File" -> "BPC" -> "Connection" -> "Open Activity using Netweaver Connection".

Cause

To open an activity using Netweaver Connection, it needs:

  • SAP GUI 740 or above must be installed
  • SAP UI Landscape format must be used

If these prerequisites are not fulfilled, the error occurs.

Resolution

Install either one of the below:

  1. SAP Business Client 5.0 or 6.0.
  2. SAP GUI 7.4 or above.
    You must then set the following registry key:
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE(\Wow6432Node)\SAP\SAPLogon]
    "LandscapeFormatEnabled"=REG_DWORD:00000001
