Symptom
When LMS administrator tries to add an Item to a Collection, clicking on the search button returns a 403 error, as per the screenshot below:

Reproducing the Issue
- On LMS Administration, navigate to Learning > Collections
- Search for a collection and start edditing it
- Click on 'Add Online Item' button
- A new window open to browse for items. Click on Search button, as show on the below screenshot
- After this, the HTTP 403 Forbidden error is presented
Cause
There are missing workflows on the administrator's role that need to be added.
Resolution
Please notice that the following workflows are related to Collections:
- Add Collection
- Edit Collection
- View Collection
- Run Collection Entry Views CSV Report
- Run Collection Views CSV Report
- Search Collection
- Edit Assignment Profile Recommended Collections
- View Assignment Profile Recommended Collections
To be able to edit a Collection, at least the workflows ‘Edit Collection’ and ‘View Collection’ should be added to the administrator's role. To add these workflows to the role, please follow these steps:
- Navigate to System Admin > Security > Role Management
- Look for the administrator's role
- Click on the Workflows tab
- Click on 'add one or more from list' link
- Click 'Expand All'
- Add the missing workflows (‘Edit Collection’ and ‘View Collection’)
- If you want to allow the administrator to perform additional tasks, please consider to add the previously mentioned workflows related to Collections, like 'Add Collection' workflow for instance, that will allow administrator to create collections.
