2502094 - "Requested server name not found" - SAP ASE

Symptom

  • When trying to access Sybase with isql I am getting the following error:
    isql -Usapsa -P<xxx> -SSID -X
    CT-LIBRARY error: ct_connect(): directory service layer: internal directory control layer error: Requested server name not found.
     
  • However, it works fine when bypassing the interfaces file:
    isql -Usapsa -S<hostname>:<port#> -X
     
  • But R3trans can connect to the ASE correctly, which does not use the interfaces file.
    R3trans -d
    This is R3trans version 6.26 (release 749 - 14.02.17 - 20:17:01).
