2503315 - Getting 711 and 965 errors when loading an archive database - SAP ASE

Symptom

  • Loading an archive database
  • Getting the following 711 error:

Msg 711, Level 17, State 9:
Server '<SERVER>', Line 1:
There is presently insufficient system memory to allocate 2048 bytes for new structures. Please try again when there is less activity on the system.

  • A 965 error is reported after the 711 error:

Msg 965, Level 21, State 2:
Server '<Server>', Line 2:
Unable to create the database disk map for the archive database '12'.
Space available in the log segment has fallen critically low in database 'scratchdb'.  All future modifications to this database will be suspended until the log is successfully dumped and space becomes available.
