2503863 - Spid hangs in 'prepprev' after rollback due to Error 2601 (duplicate key) - SAP ASE for Business Suite

Symptom

  • Spid in rollback for a (very) long time
  • System table master..syslogshold shows long running spid
  • The master..sysprocesses table shows that spid with :
    • 'status' =  'running and
    • 'cmd' = 'ROLLBACK'
  • Running dbcc stacktrace (spid#) command on the affected spid shows a stack including calls :
    upyield
    prepprev
    gnext__curpage_qualbounds
    apl_getnext
    xsc__syslogs_getnext
    rec_undo_session
    abortcmd
  • In the output from command dbcc pss (suid#, spid#), last error is shown to be 2601 (duplicate key error): plasterror=2601
